Apollo Endosurgery Taps Michael Doty for CFO

AUSTIN, TX – June 7, 2011 – Apollo Endosurgery, Inc., a leading company in the emerging field of flexible surgery, announced today the appointment of Michael J. Doty as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Doty most recently served as CFO for Tornier BV, and prepared the company for one of the most successful medical device IPOs in the past few years. Doty formerly served as CFO of Inamed Corporation, a leading provider of devices for bariatric surgery and aesthetic medicine.

Their flexible surgical products are well‐positioned to address a number of important clinical conditions, and they are poised for significant revenue growth,” said Doty. “The flexible suturing platform, OverStitch™, has the potential to fundamentally change patient care in general surgery, bariatric procedures and GI cancers.”

Doty holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of St. Thomas and a Bachelor of Chemistry and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Minnesota. He is also a certified public accountant (CPA).
